Digital deconstructions of urban imagery have long been a major theme in my work (-see also ‘Urbanized’ _ 006). working back and forth across different media i did a large amount of remixing moving images and sound, stills and analog photos from _ 996. when Raw Material then hosted the arts event ‘Digital Anarchy’ in London and Liverpool, i created the poster and trailer with them; as well as the experimental video ‘Info Surf’ (DV 13 min, UK _ 996) as part of my multimedia installation. for renowned London rapper MC D i did a logo and deconstructed imagery for his record sleeve of ‘Silent Eclipse’ _ 999 (pictured, photography: Tim Brown). later followed the experimental video short ‘The Blue Hour’ (DV 5 min, UK _ 999, funded by the City of Westminster Arts Council, London) among other pieces and a variety of appearances as a VJ -’video jockey’- in London clubs and urban arts–related events.

showing and performing my work in happening electronic music
clubs, in the context of urban (youth) culture, and at fringe film events was for many years my main focus. i perceived this informal, multifaceted and culturally mixed environment to be much more cutting–edge for carrying creativity offensively-minded into the digital age, rather than the traditionally homogenous, static and self referencial arts and gallery scene.
